RhinoBoard is a type of plasterboard made from an aerated gypsum core between heavy paper liners. Manufactured by Saint-Gobain Gyproc, it is widely used in South Africa for interior ceilings, wall linings, and drywall partitions.

Common Types and Sizes
  • 6.4 mm: Standard ceiling board (typically 1200 mm wide by various lengths like 3000 mm or 4000 mm).
  • 9 mm & 12.5 mm: Thicker boards used for drywalls, wall linings, and bulkheads.
  • FireStop: Contains glass fibre and vermiculite for enhanced fire resistance (up to 120 minutes).
  • MoistureResistant: Built with water-repellent core additives for humid areas like bathrooms.
